SNCB conditions are categorized into three pet types to ensure a comfortable journey for you and your pet on Belgian trains. Whether you're traveling with a small pet, a leashed pet, or a guide and assistance dog, SNCB provides clear guidelines to facilitate a smooth travel experience on the Belgian railways.
-
Small Pets: Can travel for free in baskets, cages, or crates no larger than 30 x 55 x 30 cm. They do not require a ticket. This policy makes SNCB a convenient choice for passengers traveling with their small pets on Belgian trains.
-
Leashed Pets: If you want to travel with a leashed pet, you must purchase a Pet Supplement. A muzzle may be requested by the train attendant. To arrange this, please contact us through the contact form. This ensures that all passengers, including those with pets, have a pleasant journey on SNCB trains.
-
Guide and Assistance Dogs: Travel for free, do not require a Pet Supplement, and do not need to wear a muzzle. You must present a personal access card from a recognized assistance dog training facility. This highlights SNCB’s commitment to accessibility and support for all passengers on its Belgian railways, ensuring a barrier-free travel experience.
