Arriving to Dijon, in France by train is a relatively easy experience. The main railway station located in the city is Gare de Dijon-Ville. From here, there are several transport options available to get around the city. These include the Dijon Tramways - the tram service - and Dijon's urban bus network, Tan. Both the buses and tramways run from around 5am to 11pm, and tickets can be easily purchased from ticket machines located at the railway station.
There are also several other transport options in Dijon, including taxis and bike rentals. Taxis can be easily hailed from the street, while bike rental is available from the Vélodi bike-sharing service with more than 50 stations throughout the city.
Once in Dijon, there is plenty to see and do. From visiting the magnificent Palace of the Dukes of Burgundy, to taking in the views from the observatory, to sampling the local cuisine at the market, Dijon is a great city to explore.
The best way to start your visit is to take a stroll down the bustling Grand Rue. This is the heart of the old city, and from here, you can easily explore all the landmarks, monuments, restaurants and cafes that the city has to offer.
