Cochem, in Germany is a beautiful town located in the Rhineland-Palatinate region, along the Mosel river. With its stunning castle, vineyards, and picturesque views, it is one of Europe's most underrated travel destinations. Here are seven must-visit sites for a memorable trip to Cochem: 

Reichsburg Castle: a formidable medieval castle located on a hill dominating the Mosel river. Explore its eight towers, the chapel, and the dungeon, or take a guided tour for even more information about Cochem’s history. The castle is open from March to November and tickets start at €6. 

Cochem Historical Mustard Mill: museum located in the old castle tower. Explore the history of mustard-making, learn how it's made, and sample some of the freshest mustards in Germany. Admission is €4 and the museum is open daily from 10:00-18:00. 

Mosel-Promenade: fantastic views of the Mosel river, surrounded by the vineyards. The promenade is a great spot for a leisurely stroll and for catching glimpses of the steamers that take visitors on boat tours of the river. 

St. Martin's Church: Lutheran church located in the upper town, built in the 13th century. Part of the church was destroyed in the early 1800s, but it was restored to its former glory. Inside, visitors will find a beautiful Baroque altar piece and a historical organ. 

Ebernburg Castle: former castle and palace complex that dates back to the 9th century. Tour the castle and gardens, and take in the sweeping views from its ramparts. Tickets cost €4 and doors open from 10:00-17:00. 

The Cochem Market Square: great place to soak in the local atmosphere and perhaps grab a few souvenirs. Admire the Town Hall, the 18th-century fountain, and the beautiful buildings surrounding it. It's the perfect spot for a relaxing afternoon.
